Overview

The Manager, Global Merchandise Planning collaborates with the merchandising and regional planning leadership to align on direction for preseason category sales, demand, and option count goals. This position leads the creation of tops down targets by category to increase sales and margin across the globe. This position is highly visible among senior leadership, requires a keen grasp of translating strategy to action, a desire to collaborate with a diverse cross-section of functions, the ability to lead and develop a highly analytical team, and strong communication and influencing skills.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for leading the creation and maintenance of global annual and preseason sales and demand plans. Plans are created in collaboration with merchandising, planning, capacity, commercial teams, and finance.
  • Plans should focus on strategic brand initiatives and optimizing performance against long-term targets.
  • Partners with global and regional teams to set top-down targets for key categories for the globe.
  • Provide support and recommendations for brand, region, and channel leadership.
  • Partner with product and regional leaders to track progress against targets. Use analytics to create applicable insights and solutions.
  • Analyzes preseason forecasts submitted by the regions and compares to global targets.
  • Reviews product mix changes that could impact sales, margin, and demand. Provides recommended changes to the global forecast based on category performance and recommends drops to the product line to improve profitability.
  • Leads hindsight analyses that could impact future seasons’ plans.
  • Is a trusted advisor to the planning leadership team.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years in merchandising, planning, or demand (Strong preference for consumer goods, footwear, or fashion apparel industry experience.)
  • Provide clear, well organized strategic direction.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization across written, verbal and presentation formats
  • Ability to lead and develop highly analytical and results oriented team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority, gain agreement and drive consensus.
  • Proven ability to articulate business requirements and formulate concise solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven experience in developing managing processes in a fast-growing business.
  • Proven ability to successfully work in a highly cross-functional matrixed environment.

Title: Manager, Global Merchandise Planning 

Salary or Pay Range: $105,000 - $120,000  

Workplace Persona: Collaborator  

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.

 

This position is eligible to participate in a company incentive program.
