Maintenance Worker - Weekend Shift

Overview

In this role, you will provide maintenance expertise for quick response to Material Handling Equipment and building system issues to maximize Uptime.  You’ll follow through on work assignments and provide customer focus for Operations teams and our end user customer. 

 

This position supports our Weekend Shift Operations, Friday - Sunday, 6am - 630pm.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshooting and making repairs to building systems, dock doors, dock locks, dock plates, etc  
  • Plumbing in all break rooms, restrooms (sinks, toilets, urinals etc), floor drains, etc 
  • HVAC: Change Filters, rest MAU's, and vent fans of the roof of each building  
  • Electrical work and repairs on single phase & 3 phase electrical systems, including 24v, 48v, 110, 277v, 480v 
  • Replace overhead lights in 40' Boom or Scissor Lift  
  • Painting, drywall repair, carpet cleaning, and replacement  
  • Welding: MIG, TIG, Arc on various alloys 
  • Operate shop equipment, sheet metal brake, band saw, drill press 
  • Work on PIT Equipment, install Infolink, lightings, lanyards  
  • Equipment batter maintenance, check charge condition, water batteries 
  • Lock Out Tag Out  
  • Provide contractors with access to the buildings.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • High School diploma or equivalent.  Technical/vocational education preferred 
  • 2 years maintenance activities/mechanic/electrical experience 
  • Can demonstrate knowledge in functional dept. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills 
  • Good problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, standard operating procedures and operating instructions, design drawings. 
  • Ability to work safely around mechanical equipment 
  • Training with Lockout/tag-out requirements. 
  • Metal fabrication, welding, carpentry experience. 
  • Experience with reading electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics for troubleshooting controls issues, and access to control cabinets and motor starters, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s). 
  • Working knowledge of PLC's, sensors, encoders 
  • 2+ years’ experience working in maintenance operations within a distribution center operation.
