Overview

Responsible for the project management of key critical initiatives related to process, tools, and systems that support overall product development, procedures & Centric PLM system etc. The Product Developer will work with and support the Product Creation Team to ensure PD achievements and data within the PLM system are met, documentation needs are fulfilled and develop Off Calendar programs projects are performed regarding aesthetic, quality, cost and fit. Ensures all regulatory and compliance measures are met within global guidelines. 

This position will complete and handle the data management for development activities for the PD team and complete outstanding timeline footwear platforms and related projects.  Responsibilities center around three main themes
 

What You'll Do

Development:

  • Implement project management of multiple products to industry best timelines.
  • Develop and use project-tracking tools to ensure products are developed to company standards.
  • Handle the Product Development process for off timeline footwear projects from initial product ideation to Release to Manufacturing.
  • Establish and ensure product margin targets are realized to meet strategic goals.
  • Validate that new products meet design specifications and usage requirements. Vigilant in ensuring design for manufacturability solutions are implemented on all projects.
  • Supervise the product and components of new footwear comply with company and industry standards.
  • Report to senior management project status.

Management: 

  • Monitor project goals and results.
  • Lead projects to ensure timely project advancement.
  • Build a collaborative team environment. 

Outsource Partner Management:

  • Build a relationship and an environment that promotes world class development collaboration.
  • Use and analyze metrics with Senior Leaders to meet development benchmarks.
  • Continually supervise costing during the product development process.
  • Work with the team and vendors to instill a proactive, solution-based development organization.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Strategic Planning: Leads and prioritizes short-term goals critical dates and project completion process and to the function’s business development. Uses internal and external partnerships that leverage resources and enhances business efficiency. 
  • People Management: Leads by example. Facilitates and expedites the growth and development of their cross functional team. Conducts and coordinates their cross functional team to create the best possible collaborative working environment.
  • Project Management: Oversees Project Management and accuracy of the project development activity. Collaborates with global teams to make sure the development projects and load is appropriate for global teams and factories. 

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Project Management, Industrial Design, or Business or an equivalent of 4 years’ experience in the development of consumer products, with a minimum 2 years of footwear development or engineering experience.
  • PLM system experience: Centric PLM system experience is a plus.
  • Process improvement experience and skills.
  • Shown project management and problem-solving experience.
  • Experience in working with overseas factories and working collaboratively with production/commercialization management.
  • Strong negotiating skills and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to judge multiple priorities and deliver results.
  • Some travel may be requested.

  • Environment is an open cubicle environment/noise level in moderate.
  • Ability to sit for extensive periods of time but may also be required to stand, walk, kneel, or balance. 
  • Operate a computer for extensive periods at a time.
  • Ability to carry/ lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/carry up to 25 pounds.

Salary or Pay Range: $76,000 - $86,000  

Workplace Persona: Collaborator  

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.
