Overview

The Category Manager, SMU for HEYDUDE supports the execution of global Special Make-Up (SMU) programs for Direct-to-Consumer and Key Accounts, helping deliver the strategic goals and long-term vision of the brand. This highly collaborative role operates across multiple functions, partnering closely with category management, merchandising, product creation, and external partners to bring compelling product stories to life for a global consumer.

What You'll Do

  • Drive execution of global SMU programs in alignment with HEYDUDE’s annual and seasonal brand objectives.
  • Manage the global SMU calendar and support end-to-end product management in partnership with the Manager, Category Management.
  • Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure smooth program execution and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain detailed product management excellence, including briefing, line planning, sample organization, systems management, and presentations.
  • Track consumer, competitor, and global retail insights to inform category decisions and strengthen brand relevance.
  • Support identification of strategic partners that energize the brand and align with HEYDUDE’s target consumer and distribution strategy.
  • Navigate ambiguity and contribute to defining and scaling a growing product space.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a similar area, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of product line or category management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Passion for footwear with a solid understanding of global consumer, culture, market, and trend dynamics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience working within PLM systems (Centric or similar).
  • Data-driven perspective paired with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel globally as needed.

Title: Category Manager, SMU 

Salary or Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000 

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.

Your participation in this flexible schedule plays a key role in building a connected and successful team. In-office requirements vary by our work personas: Resident (5 days), Collaborator (4 days), Connector (2-3 days), Explorer (fully remote). This role has been aligned to the Collaborator persona.
