Overview

The Shipping clerk will perform various tasks to ensure the daily goals set by the Shipping Supervisor are met. The Shipping Clerk must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with management and employees within their department and other departments to ensure consistent order flow into the shipping area.

 

This position supports the shipping department on the Weekend Shift, Friday - Sunday, 6:00am-6:30pm.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain quality service by accurately and diligently following set processes and company standards
  • Work individually or within small groups as required
  • Maintain safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Ensure Canada / Puerto Rico and Hawaii are prepared with all proper documentation and within their required SLA’s
  • Ensure BOLs and Loading sheets are filled out and signed properly
  • Ensure all outbound containers are completely loaded based on their assigned time and windows
  • Ensure all loads in WM are invoiced upon departure
  • Clearly and appropriately call out risks to Management per the shipping schedule
  • Monitor flow into the parcel trucks
  • Ensure all equipment is turned in at the end of each shift and work areas are left clean and organized
  • Create shipments for International as needed
  • Close manifests and End of Day
  • Communicate with carriers and ensure the proper hand off is given to the following shift
  • Maintain shipping schedule
  • Ensure supplies are sufficient for the needs of the department
  • Assist with issues pertaining to the Shipping Sorter
  • Support as needed in the Shipping department

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Experience working in a fast paced and attention to detail environment
  • Previous experience working in a Shipping department preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a distribution environment required
  • Ability to learn new software (UPS Worldship and Worldease)
  • Strong attention to detail and computer proficiency required, experience with WMS / Manhattan preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to ask questions to gain a clear understanding of instructions and processes
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work through problems in a team-centered environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Standard operating procedures, and operating instructions
  • Ability to work safely around mechanical equipment
  • Flexibility for overtime opportunities
