Safety Coordinator

Overview
The Safety Coordinator plays a key role in promoting a safe and compliant work environment by managing safety data, supporting training initiatives, and facilitating key safety programs. This role supports continuous improvement by identifying trends, tracking safety actions, and reinforcing a culture of safety across the organization.
This is an on-site role, Monday - Friday, day shift, however, incumbent must be able to support 2nd and Weekend Shift as necessary.
This role will be posted for 10 days, 5/21/2025 - 5/31/2025, for internal candidates.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Data & Reporting
- Analyze and consolidate safety data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver key safety reports (e.g., incident trends, BBS observations, action item progress) to the Safety Supervisor.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on safety KPIs (e.g., recordable incident rate, BBS compliance, action item closure rates).
Documentation & Training Support
- Maintain safety documentation, including training records, incident reports, meeting rosters, and workers’ compensation files.
- Manage and update the safety action item registry and follow up on outstanding items.
- Maintain up-to-date safety board content, including metrics and notices.
Safety Observations & Field Engagement
- Conduct daily safety observations and behavior-based safety walks.
- upport operations teams in updating and reviewing Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for various roles.
Other Duties
- Support safety training facilitation and general administrative needs.
- Cross-train in other safety-related or operational duties as needed.
What You'll Bring to the Table
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of administrative or safety-related experience in a distribution or industrial environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Familiarity with the Hierarchy of Controls (preferred).
- Ability to create and deliver safety-related presentations or trainings.
Soft Skills
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to a safety-first approach.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crawl for extended period.
- Flexibility to be cross-trained in other areas of the operation.
