Technicians at all levels are critical to maintaining equipment uptime, supporting automation systems, and ensuring safe, reliable facility operations. Candidates will be leveled based on experience, technical capability, and demonstrated skills.

This role supports advanced material handling systems including AS/RS, sortation, shuttle systems, and facility infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex automation, controls, electrical, fabrication, and facility-related failures prior to engineering or external support.
  • Lead advanced diagnostics on automated systems including AS/RS, shuttle systems, goods-to-person automation, sortation equipment, and integrated material handling platforms.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting support for facility infrastructure such as power distribution, dock systems, building mechanical systems, and safety-critical assets.
  • Perform and oversee light-to-medium fabrication and repair work (e.g., cutting, drilling, grinding, welding, and bracket/guard fabrication) to support equipment reliability, safety improvements, and facility needs.
  • Provide advanced support for building maintenance and facility repairs (e.g., doors/docks, basic carpentry/patching, piping/plumbing components, and mechanical systems) and coordinate specialized vendor work as needed to ensure safe, compliant operation.
  • Partner with Controls Engineering on system diagnostics, validation testing, and safe system recovery during complex automation events.
  • Lead formal root cause analysis for major downtime events and chronic failures; develop corrective actions with measurable reliability outcomes.
  • Review and influence preventive maintenance strategies across automation and facility systems, including PM job plan rigor, frequency recommendations, and documentation standards.
  • Develop technical standards, best practices, and training content to elevate maintenance capability.
  • Mentor and coach Technician I–III team members; guide complex troubleshooting in real time.
  • Ensure critical technical documentation (schematics, procedures, and troubleshooting references) is maintained and accessible.
  • Ensure fabrication changes and facility modifications are documented (drawings, redlines, parts/specs, and safety/LOTO considerations) and incorporated into standard procedures and PM plans where applicable.
  • Use CMMS and downtime data to identify trends, prioritize reliability improvements, and reduce repeat failures.
  • May be assigned to act as a working lead for the site by coordinating daily priorities, directing on-shift work execution, leading shift handoffs, and serving as the maintenance point of contact for Operations and leadership while remaining hands-on.

What You'll Bring to the Table

The qualifications listed below reflect the expectations for our most advanced technician level (Technician IV). If you have strong experience in maintenance, automation, electrical, or mechanical systems—even if you don’t meet every requirement—we still encourage you to apply. • 7+ years of progressive industrial maintenance experience in highly automated environments.
  • Extensive hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting multiple types of automated material handling systems.
  • Strong electrical, controls, and facility systems background.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, escalation ownership, and mentoring capability.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation discipline.
  • Military experience in relevant technical fields (e.g., electrical, mechanical, automation, avionics, or similar) is considered equivalent to industry experience
  • Advanced automation, controls, or reliability training.
  • Experience supporting large, highly automated facilities with multi-system equipment fleets.
  • Experience with formal reliability methods (RCM/TPM/PM optimization) or predictive maintenance tools (thermal imaging, vibration, etc.).
