Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our high-volume distribution center in Dayton, Ohio. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to frontline supervisors and operations leadership, applying critical thinking to drive effective decision-making and problem-solving across employee engagement, employee relations, and strategic HR initiatives. This person must be UNAPOLOGETICALLY PEOPLE FIRST. The HRBP will play an important role in driving a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR practices align with operational goals.

 

This role supports our 2nd shift operations, Monday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 4:30am.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Employee Engagement & Culture Building

  • Lead initiatives that foster employee engagement, recognition, and retention.
  • Conduct regular pulse checks, engagement surveys, and action planning with leadership teams.

 

Employee Relations & Support

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations concerns, resolving issues with fairness and consistency.
  • Conduct investigations and ensure compliance with company policies, state, and federal labor laws.

 

Supervisor Coaching & Development

  • Provide day-to-day support to supervisors and managers on HR practices, including performance management, attendance, and conflict resolution.
  • Deliver and coordinate training sessions tailored to supervisory development and compliance.

 

Onboarding & HR Systems Management

  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring accurate enrollment in all HR systems (payroll, benefits, timekeeping, learning management).
  • Maintain employee records and process changes within HRIS (promotions, transfers, terminations) efficiently and accurately.

 

Strategic Partnership with Operations

  • Collaborate closely with operations leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
  • Support rollout of new programs and initiatives that improve workforce productivity and employee satisfaction.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across shifts.
  • Support audits, analytics, and prepare HR metrics and reports as needed.

What You'll Bring to the Table

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, labor compliance, and HRIS systems.
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships with leaders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems such as ADP, Kronos, or Success Factors/SAP is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required.

 

Working Conditions

  • This role is onsite at the distribution center with regular presence on the floor to maintain visibility and accessibility.
  • Flexibility to support multiple shifts or weekends as business needs require.
