Overview

Our Equipment Operator 2’s (EO2) generally work in our Induct department utilizing Order Selectors to pull and replenish product from reserves.

These positions support our Weekend Shift operation, Friday -Sunday, 6:00am - 6:30pm.

What You'll Do

Equipment Operators are responsible for moving goods within the distribution center, using various equipment. Their duties include unloading materials from incoming vehicles, stacking items in assigned places, and transporting raw materials. They also inspect machinery, maintain inventory records, and follow safety guidelines.

Functional Knowledge

  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Proven ability to operate equipment safely in DC environment
  • Ability to complete tasks in at least one area of delivery process (delivery to drop zones, put away, pulling)

Complexity/Problem Solving

  • Understand the basic processes and system of the building
  • Troubleshoot minor issues in the process, identifying where the misstep occurred

 

Interpersonal/Communication Skills

  • Communicate effectively with peers and leadership 

 

Autonomy

  • Work with close supervision or under clearly defined procedures 

 

Performance/Expectations:

  • Achieve performance standards with an “on-standard” rating 80-90%.
  • Perform assigned duties effectively & efficiently with a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.

  • Collaborate as a team player to contribute to the overall success of the warehouse.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • 1 – 2 years of experience operating forklift equipment, with at least six months on an order selector/cherry picker
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to learn fundamental warehouse processes and operations.
  • Comprehension and adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to understand English (in verbal and written forms) at a level sufficient to communicate accurately and rapidly about workplace tasks and conditions
  • Awareness of potential hazards and the importance of maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Basic understanding of common warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners.
  • Clear verbal communication skills to interact with team members and follow instructions.
  • Basic written communication skills for documenting and labeling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.Understanding the importance of effective communication within a team.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate various types of products with attention to detail.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic for tasks such as counting inventory and checking quantities.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and a dynamic work environment.
  • Careful observation and accuracy in performing tasks to minimize errors.
  • Capability to identify and address simple issues within the warehouse process.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to maneuver in a distribution center and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands for seizing, holding, grasping, turning, etc. as well as fine manipulation: touching, picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead & at or below shoulder level.
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, kneel, climb, and balance.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have near & far visual acuity with or without correction.
  • Must also be able to effectively communicate within a distribution center environment.
