Overview

The Associate Industrial Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing our distribution center operations through the application of industrial engineering principles. This position is ideal for an individual contributor with a strong analytical approach and a passion for process improvement.

 

This is generally a day shift position, however, there will be an occassional need to work into second shift or on the weekend to accommodate those teams.  

 

This position will be posted internally for 10 days, 6/2/2025 - 6/12/2025, for internal candidates to apply.  

What You'll Do

Time Studies:

  • Conduct detailed time studies to analyze work processes and find opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Use observation techniques and data collection tools to accurately measure and document task durations.
    Collaborate with operational teams to understand workflow variations and assess their impact on labor performance


Standard Setting:

  • Establish and maintain accurate and achievable labor standards for various tasks within the distribution center.
    Work closely with team leads and supervisors to ensure standards align with operational goals and industry benchmarks.
    Regularly review and update standards based on evolving business needs and process improvements


Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency.
    Provide support in implementing process changes, training initiatives, and technology enhancements to drive continuous improvement.
    Engage with operational teams to gather feedback and insights for ongoing process optimization.


Data Analysis:

  • Use labor management system (LMS) data to analyze workforce performance, identify trends, and provide insights for decision-making.
    Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
    Collaborate with multi-functional teams to interpret data and implement targeted improvements


Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to distribution center staff on the proper use of the labor management system and alignment to established standards.
    Collaborate with the training department to develop materials and conduct training sessions as needed.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of previous analyst experience preferred.
  • Proven experience working with a labor management system in a distribution center environment or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in time studies and standard setting.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and a proactive approach to driving positive change.
     

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand for the duration of the scheduled shift (10 – 12 hours).
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise and with varying temperatures and humidity.
