Overview

The Sr. Manager, Commercial Channel Marketing Activations Japan leads regional channel marketing strategy for wholesale and retail, adapting global marketing platforms to local needs to boost engagement, sales, and brand awareness. They develop regional marketing programs in collaboration with brand marketing, commercial teams, and partners. The role also leads a team overseeing wholesale marketing, retail marketing, and visual merchandising.

What You'll Do

  1. Regional Channel Marketing Strategy

  • Leads Wholesale and Japan Retail Marketing to meet business goals.

  • Sets yearly priorities and optimizes brand activations.

  • Aligns all-channel marketing plans and fosters team collaboration.

  1. Growth of Strategic Channels (GAP) + DtC

  • Integrates global marketing with regional wholesale and DtC.

  • Develops strategies for key GAP accounts like ABC-MART and Crocs DtC.

  • Measures and optimizes wholesale activities for global alignment.

  1. Retail & Visual Merchandising Strategies

  • Executes seasonal Retail and Visual Merchandising plans.

  • Plans campaigns, promotions, and product launches aligned with GTM.

  • Supports retail growth and stays on top of trends.

  • Assists with store openings and enhances consumer experiences.

  1. Resource Optimization

  • Coaches the marketing team for improved efficiency.

  • Manages budgets and negotiates with external partners.

  • Shares insights with MICE and global partners for development.

What You'll Bring to the Table

1. Education

  • Master’s degree

2. Marketing & Consumer Experience

  • 7+ years in brand management, communications, or trade marketing (ideally in sporting goods, fashion, lifestyle, or FMCG; footwear experience a plus).

  • Expertise in Channel Activation Marketing, focusing on Wholesale and Retail.

  • Strong background in PR, communications, and digital marketing.

  • Experience in multinational environments with an understanding of local, regional, and global dynamics.

  • Skilled in consumer analytics and applying actionable insights.

  • Proven experience leading projects from ideation to execution and review.

  • Expertise in generating and executing commercial channel campaigns and tracking KPIs.

  • Experience with GTM priorities and calendar alignment.

  • Interest in Pop culture, Youth culture, and the fashion industry.

3. Business Skills

  • Deep understanding of the omni-channel landscape and user experience.

  • Ability to set KPIs and measure results effectively.

4. People Management & Leadership

  • Experience in people management and leadership.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams, including agency partners, under complex conditions.

  • Strong decision-making skills, aligning cross-functional teams to deliver results.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with sales teams to drive consumer-centric activations.
