Overview

Crocs Japan is hiring an E-Commerce Senior Merchandiser to help drive the globally aligned merchandising vision for Crocs, the industry-leading casual footwear brand. As a Merchant, you are responsible for embracing the brand vision for the consumer, as well as identifying local product opportunities specific to the Japan Digital business. This person will play a key role in both pre-season assortment planning and in-season trading to ensure that the product strategy is achieved, and financial goals are met.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for crafting and planning consumer-right assortments in line with regional direction and Elective seasonal assortments for Marketplaces.
  • Build promotion lists for Marketplaces taking ownership for promotional pricing to align to monthly margin targets.
  • Build weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and share with broader team
  • Stay consumer-focused by applying consumer insights, conducting in-store walk-throughs and click-throughs, and keeping up-to-date with market macro environment shifts and trends.
  • Build and complete an allocation plan for marketplaces, ensuring optimized inventory distribution across platforms.
  • Work with Planner to understand inventory gaps to forecast and evaluate business risk associated
  • Conduct regular analysis of product and promotional performance during the season, optimally connect with all collaborators, and share valuable findings for future planning.
  • Conduct Seasonal hindsight analysis. Summarize Top line Financial Performance, Platform and Category. Understand hits & misses. Review flow opportunities and challenges
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent implementation of Brand product strategy in the Japan marketplace.
  • Participate in weekly trading meetings to bring insights and ideas to continuously grow the business
  • Review events calendar and potential key event shifts
  • Complete adhoc tasks including inventory transfers, MSRP setting, inventory checks, promotion list alignment, customs enquiries, catalogue creation

What You'll Bring to the Table

Minimum Education:

  • University bachelor’s degree preferred
     

Minimum Experience:

  • 5+ years in merchandise planning and/or buying within a direct to consumer environment  (within a wholesale environment is a plus)
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and employ standard processes in the marketplace to optimize merchandising outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of market competition, consumer and market trends
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Collaborative teammate who grows with optimally working with multiple cross-functional groups.
  • Track record of succeeding in a result driven environment
  • Commercial and analytical approach, detail oriented and capable of developing sales forecasts
  • Language: Proficient in Japanese. Business English (actively participate in meetings with global teams)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.
