Overview
The Demand Planner is responsible to deliver accurate demand forecast and healthy channel inventory management for the Retail channel. Through effective planning and analysis of supply delays and inventory excesses, this role helps to achieve the financial targets in close collaboration with Sales, Merchant, Finance, Customer Service.
What You'll Do
Key Activities
- Own monthly Demand review and relevant S&OP sections to ensure all stakeholders are aligned to the plan and risks & opportunities are escalated
- Create monthly style/color/size level sales and operating forecast to optimize forecast accuracy and improve inventory availability
- Forecast core carryover products using statistical models and global core planning resources
- Track weekly sales, analyze sell thru rates and gaps to forecast and propose corrective actions to merchant and allocator
- Support and verify seasonal size curve creation based on historical data
- Develop channel inventory strategy per product category aligned with Open to Buy budget
- Monitor inventory projections based on sales trends and call out any risks and opportunities, including product launch impacts
- Optimize the inventory healthy by proactively identify excess and recommending appropriate liquidation plans to merchant
- Partner with supply planner and merch to drive cross- channel / country inventory opportunities
- Use Merch information to develop pre-season product level unit and revenue forecast by month
- Consolidate Season plan, agree with merchants on adjustments, and support merchant to present to management
- Drive process improvement projects to standardize and optimize the pre-season and in-season planning process using new software modules
- Conduct quantitative analysis based on past season demand and supply issues, and provide insights to optimize future planning
- Support with any related planning reporting

What You'll Bring to the Table
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above
Experience
- More than 2 years in Demand Planning
- FMCG industry, preferably in apparel / fashion with wholesale business model
- Close working relationship with Sales, Merchandising and Finance
Knowledge
- Understanding of various demand planning, inventory and OTB modeling
- Strong quantitative analysis skill set
- Proficiency with Planning Software and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel. Power Point, Word) with advanced knowledge of Excel
- Fluent in English and proficient in Mandarin (to liaise with Commercial team in China)
Interpersonal Skill
- Highly collaborative with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders in country and regional teams
- Comfortable with large data sets with clear eye for the detail
- Ability to format data in clear and understandable presentations
- Can cope with multiple tasks under limited time resource
- Takes initiative, challenge the status quo and embrace change
