Overview

The Staff Engineer, Frontend for Crocs, Inc will lead the evolution of our digital platforms through innovative frontend solutions and composable commerce strategies. This role is ideal for a top-tier technologist who thrives with solving sophisticated architectural challenges, building proof-of-concept applications, and guiding large-scale migrations to modern frameworks.

You will serve as a technical leader with vision, collaborating across teams to define and implement scalable, performant, and maintainable frontend architectures.

What You'll Do

  • Define and evolve the frontend architecture strategy with a focus on headless and composable commerce.
  • Lead the migration of legacy codebases to modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.
  • Evaluate and propose changes to integrations with existing tools to align them with future architectural direction.
  • Build and validate proof-of-concept applications to test new technologies and architectural approaches.
  • Directly contribute to production codebases.
  • Develop reusable components, libraries, and tooling to accelerate development across teams.
  • Ensure high standards of performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
  • Partner with frontend and backend delivery teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Mentor senior engineers and contribute to technical reviews and decision-making processes.
  • Advocate for standard processes in frontend development, including testing, CI/CD, and documentation.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • 8+ years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on architecture and system design.
  • Deep expertise in React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Proven experience with composable commerce ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success in building proof-of-concept applications and leading codebase migrations.
  • Strong understanding of API-first development and integration with backend services.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and mentor across teams.
  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), especially in headless implementations using OCAPI/SCAPI.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, analytics, and observability tools preferred.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities preferred.

Title: Staff Engineer, Frontend 

Salary or Pay Range: $140,000 - $150,000  

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.

Your participation in this flexible schedule plays a key role in building a connected and successful team. In-office requirements vary by our work personas: Resident (5 days), Collaborator (4 days), Connector (2-3 days), Explorer (fully remote). This role has been aligned to the Explorer persona.
