Overview

The Sr. Automation Manager is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and actively participating in automation projects and solutions used within the Crocs Inc. network of Distribution Centers. The primary focus is the development of the business case for Las Vegas DC and supporting the vendor evaluation during the RFP, however additional work with the Las Vegas DC Labor Management strategy, Ohio DC automation and others may fall under the scope as needed.

This role is an experienced automation engineer who is familiar with distribution center processes and automation strategy, design and execution. This role will begin as single contributor with the potential of having Managers and Analysts reporting to it as the program grows.

What You'll Do

Data & Analytics

  • Support the data gathering, data health evaluation and analysis of the Crocs & Hey Dude data.
  • Own the capacity modeling and cost modeling for the Las Vegas DC.
  • Support the development of the business case for automation utilizing a robust cost modeling approach.
     

Automation

  • Participate in concept sizing discussions.
  • Lead the development of the vendor selection criteria.
  • Support the RFP and vendor selection as needed.
  • Support FAT, installation and UAT of the selected Automation, building rigorous testing scenarios to evaluate and provide a successful Go Live.

Labor Management

  • Support the management of consultants to develop Labor Standards within the LVDC.
  • Help develop a rigorous standard maintenance program and education program for the operation.

Collaboration

  • Manage communication and status updates to impacted parties and management.
  • Establish good working relationships with all levels of Operations – supervisors to end users.
  • Work with the Operations team to identify pain points and opportunities for additional training.
  • Review and consult on business processes, design problems, and make recommendations for process improvement.

  • Bachelor of Engineering or other relevant field or equivalent years of relevant and related experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with Automation & Automation Strategy in a Distribution Center/Manufacturing environment or relevant/related experience.
  • Expertise with data analytics & design software such as: SQL, Advanced Excel, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Autodesk Revit.
  • Understanding of relational databases and intermediate or above ability to query across database tables in SQL Developer to build models and data sets for concept sizing, modeling, business case development, etc.
  • Strong decision-making skills used to determine different priority levels for business needs as well as the ability to evaluate different automation solutions and compare them.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to various audiences, technical and non-technical.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and administrative skills to excel at coordinating multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Strong analytical skills required, including thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them to operational requirements
  • Experience in successfully leading team members, either direct or non-direct reports
  • Ability to travel to the Crocs Inc. Distribution Centers as needed (this is remote position)

Title: Sr. Automation Manager 

Salary or Pay Range: 120,000 - 140,000  

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.
