Overview
The Sr Packaging Engineer, Personalization Packaging, Asia—China, Crocs, will be responsible for the overall coordination and execution of personalization packaging work, ensuring efficient connection across packaging design, development, sampling, production, and operations while continuously driving improvements in quality, efficiency, and processes.
- Oversee all personalization packaging-related work to ensure smooth project execution from requirement definition through implementation.
- Provide professional guidance and overall direction for packaging design, development, sampling, production, and operations.
- Develop and drive relevant strategies to improve efficiency, maintain quality, and promote continuous improvement in order to meet or exceed market needs while ensuring consistency in personalization packaging.
- This role reports directly to the Senior Packaging Manager.
What You'll Do
- Develop and coordinate packaging requirements for each product style, ensuring packaging work progresses according to plan from concept through packaging definition and meets BR (Buy Ready) timeline requirements.
- Drive packaging material development, sampling, and approval with US based stakeholders while managing key milestones to ensure project progress supports BR (Buy Ready) objectives.
- Review and confirm product packaging guidelines; coordinate packaging performance testing, qualification, and validation activities, such as packaging tests and trial fittings, with a focus on critical packaging dimensions and consumer experience-related attributes.
- Adjust packaging solutions based on market and merchandising needs, cost optimization goals, or quality improvement requirements; collaborate with factories and drive personalization packaging changes through the ECO process.
- Promote and optimize packaging design by minimizing product and packaging size and weight where possible while maintaining product protection and brand experience; apply systems thinking to optimize supply chain-related factors.
- Manage projects to ensure key milestones are completed on time while reducing unexpected risks and errors during execution.
- Drive innovation and positive change by identifying opportunities for process improvement and tool optimization, while contributing to team knowledge retention and capability building.
- Continuously drive cost optimization by reviewing and improving existing standards and policies, enhancing production processes, reducing waste, and improving operational efficiency.
- Develop a strong understanding of and implement the company’s packaging strategy to ensure related work remains aligned with the company’s overall direction.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned by the manager.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree or above; Packaging Engineering or a related major is preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in the packaging industry, with familiarity in packaging design, testing, development, and project management processes.
- Strong packaging technical capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deliver high-quality results on time.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and project management skills, with the ability to set goals, develop plans, and drive execution effectively.
- Strong self-motivation and resilience, with the ability to adapt to a fast-changing business environment.
- Fluent technical and business English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with global teams, factory management, and suppliers; strong interpersonal communication skills and a professional presence.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office and design software.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication, influencing, negotiation, and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different regions and organizational levels.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal influence; proactive and open-minded, detail-oriented, logical, execution-focused, and a strong team player.
- Willing and able to travel as required to personalization factories in Asia.
