Overview
The Director of Distribution & Logistics oversees all aspects of distribution and logistics operations across North Asia markets. This position is responsible for effectively managing third-party logistics providers (3PLs) in areas such as warehousing, transportation, and trade compliance. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the position serves as a key member of the Asia Distribution & Logistics leadership team.
What You'll Do
- Lead Asia logistics operations focusing on Japan, Korea and China across warehousing, transportation, and distribution to support Wholesales, eCommerce, and retail channels.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team; provide strong people leadership for country D&L leaders and drive capability growth.
- Own 3PL strategy and performance management—define service standards, monitor SLAs/KPIs, and drive continuous improvement with partners.
- Drive cost optimization through budgeting, forecasting, and disciplined spend management; identify productivity and network-efficiency opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally (Supply Planning, Customer Service, Finance, IT, Retail/eCom) to improve service, inventory velocity, and end-to-end supply chain performance.
- Ensure robust trade and regulatory compliance, including import/export, customs, and internal policies; proactively manage operational risk.
- Lead operational excellence initiatives (lean thinking, standard work, process improvement) to improve OTIF, quality, and customer experience.
- Champion data-driven decision-making using logistics systems and analytics; provide clear performance reporting and insights to leadership.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in distribution and logistics, including multi-country leadership responsibility.
- Excellent People leadership development capability that prepares the organization for future needs and requirements
- Strong knowledge of North Asia distribution and logistics landscape, including B2B, eCommerce, and trade compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP, logistics systems (WMS/TMS), and data analysis / BI tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence across functions and cultures.
- Proven track record managing 3PL partners, contracts, service governance, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated success driving operational optimization, continuous improvements, and lean thinking.
- Fluency in English; Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean language skills are a plus.
