Sr. Production Planner

Overview

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Enabling Hey Dude Shoes to deliver on-time, drive excellent customer and vendor service levels while achieving the shortest customer lead time. Responsible and accountable for optimization of production scheduling, fostering positive relationships with HD suppliers, effectively analyzing and managing work in progress, and maintaining smooth operations throughout production process.

What You'll Do

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor and manage vendor WIP progress and own status of all Open Orders at assigned Factories.

Monitor PO collaboration status in INFOR on daily basis ensuring PO confirmed within 5 days.

Proactively collaborate with PE teams on buy readiness to ensure POs are issued from regions without any holdbacks.

Interact closely with internal material sourcing team on material delivery, PE team on commercialization schedule in order to streamline production scheduling process.

Manage solutions related to RSL test issues, cooperating between internal RS team and vendors to prevent delays caused by RSL test failure.

Prioritize orders across regions in case of issues for on time delivery.

Lead weekly PO and WIP status review meetings with HD vendor base.

Identify root causes for late deliveries, implementing corrective and recovery plans to vendors, while communicating progress and results to regions.

Coordinate with Factory Production Planning, Operations and Logistics for mode of transport changes to meet customer's delivery expectations, cooperate on delivery change/booking related issues on daily basis.

Escalate delivery concerns of Regional Planning Teams to the Factory Production Planning Team.

Support Quality issues and impact on shipping schedule.

Support Packing team with customer’s packing instructions.

Provide basic analysis on PO distributions per season per vendor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

College or above

Experience:

5 years footwear industry experience with focus on PO and production schedule management, on a customer and vendor facing level.

Footwear industry, foreign trading company, and or direct exposure to logistics industry experience required.

General understanding of footwear facilities and logistics equipment and understanding of International customer’s packing requirements. with strong desire to increase level of knowledge related to global supply and footwear production cycle times, with an emphasis on equipment used.

Experience in SAP/GTN operation is preferred.

Knowledge:

Good analytical mind and meticulous with details and data.

Proficiency in written and spoken English & Mandarin

Good PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

Interpersonal Skill:

Self-motivated, sense of urgency, able to work independently and good teamwork

Travel Requirement:

T1 factory/vendor office visits as needed basis.
