Overview

We’re seeking a highly experienced Payroll Manager, Europe to lead our payroll function across nine European countries. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll execution in a fast-paced Direct-to-Consumer environment. You'll manage a team of skilled payroll analysts and work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and external partners to streamline operations and enhance employee experience.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of payroll analysts to drive efficiency and excellence in payroll processing.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely, accurate delivery of payrolls across nine European countries.
  • Simplify and clarify payroll processes including input validation, PND (Payments and Deductions), variance analysis, and pre-production reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external Payroll Providers and Vendors to optimize performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Operations, Global Payroll teams, and HR Business Partners to drive continuous improvement in payroll-related processes.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous internal controls and compliance procedures aligned with regional regulations and company standards, including SOX and GDPR compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll data, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
  • Track payroll KPIs for accuracy while maintaining SLAs with the business and vendors.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience European payroll management experience, managing multi-country payroll operations.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all types of individuals, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance standards across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and drive process improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail with a growth mindset.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Payroll Administration (Dutch: Praktijk Diploma Loonadministratie) or related field.
  • Experience in the Direct-to-Consumer or fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Familiarity with Workday, SAP, or similar HRIS and global payroll platforms.
  • Experience in system implementations and integrations.
  • Professional payroll certification (e.g., CIPP, CPP) is a plus.
