Overview

The Retail Merchandiser International will play a critical role in setting the product vision and curating consumer and brand-right assortments for our full-price stores. This role requires close collaboration with the international merchandise team to ensure that product selections meet the needs and preferences of our local markets, align with global brand strategies, and maximize sales and profitability.

 

You will be someone that loves diving into the consumer and product, but also a strong leader who can influence and execute your vision with internal and external counterparts successfully.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Retail and Merchandise leadership to align with brand product and planning teams on long-range planning. 
  • Drive a deep understanding of the Retail customer and apply insights to product assortments and go-to-market strategies. 
  • Select products that will drive sales, understanding key item needs and numbers to drive sales. 
  • Create assortment plans for stores that achieve style-color count and productivity targets while ensuring a cohesive customer experience aligned with the brand and channel strategy. 
  • Incorporate field feedback and identify revenue-driving opportunities to evolve store assortments over time. 
  • Ensure cohesion across storytelling and cross-category. 
  • Review, monitor, and react to in-season buy plans, sales reports, and inventory levels. 
  • Support weeks of supply, gross margin, inventory turn, and markdown management. 
  • Shop company excess regularly to identify opportunities for updated forecasts. 
  • Prepare and present quarterly product line plans and go-to-market strategy to leadership team and Store Partner
  • Collaborate on visual merchandising and store layout to support merchandise assortments. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams within the Retail department to distribute monthly go-to-market content for our field team. 
  • Align with marketing on seasonal needs. 
  • Travel to Retail stores to ensure proper merchandising standards, review inventory levels, and sales. 
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and influencing skills. 
  • Collaborate effectively with internal Retail teams (commercial, planning, operations, store development, and visual merchandising) and use strong retail math skills to inform and influence decisions. 
  • Deliver presentations and content that clearly articulate priorities and key products, inspiring and motivating stakeholders 
  • Develop and share expert knowledge of the International Retail consumer and marketplace. 
  • Act as the voice of the International Retail channel in presentations, meetings, and conversations both internally and with Global Retail and Merchandising teams. 
  • Understand segmentation and different consumer types, organizing this knowledge into clear product and buy planning insights. 
     

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in retail buying/merchandising and/or commercial roles, preferably in the footwear industry.
  • Proven background in commercial partnerships and a solutions-focused approach in merchandising within owned and operated channels.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence effectively and be a strong team player in various settings.
  • Ability to make bold decisions backed by experience and knowledge, leading consumers into new spaces and landing your vision.
  • Strong understanding of product and brand through the lens of the consumer.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and information-sharing abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a retail team, collaborating well with team members to develop regional strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, manage, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Capability to cope effectively with complexity, change, and ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in fundamental analytics and math of retail merchandising.
  • Fluent in English.
