Overview

This position will play an important role in driving Crocs, Inc.’s ESG-related compliance efforts, supporting the audit readiness and quality of our ESG and sustainability-related data in preparation for global ESG regulations, such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).  In partnership with the corporate sustainability team, supply chain and operations teams, accounting and audit teams, and other teams across our global company, this role will provide actionable insights derived from high quality ESG data, which will support the advancement of our Purpose objectives and compliance initiatives.


Key responsibilities will include supporting the build-out and maintenance of an accurate and timely ESG accounting framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, and implementing robust internal controls for ESG  and sustainability data. The role will involve collaboration with cross-functional, global teams, as well as external consultants and auditors, to support the collection, management and analysis of reliable and auditable ESG-related data. With the evolving landscape of ESG regulations and a growing business, we seek a candidate who is eager to learn, adaptable, committed to identifying root causes of challenges, and proactive in enhancing processes to meet both financial and sustainability compliance objectives
 

What You'll Do

  • Support the development of ESG data controls framework and accounting processes, including the audit-readiness of ESG and sustainability-related data, to ensure compliance with the CSRD and other ESG regulations.
  • Analyze and reconcile periodic ESG metrics and sustainability-related financial and non-financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across all reporting entities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between ESG data and financial information, supporting integration of sustainability metrics into broader business processes.
  • Monitor and analyze ESG-related financial and non-financial performance, finding opportunities for improvement and providing actionable insights to partners.

Accounting and control:

  • Lead the integration of ESG-related metrics into accounting systems and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate recognition of ESG-related impacts.
  • Design and maintain robust internal controls for ESG data collection and reporting, ensuring compliance with CSRD and assurance readiness.
  • Continuously improve ESG accounting processes and systems to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with corporate and regulatory standards.

Compliance:

  • Alongside cross-functional partners, work to ensure adherence to CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and other relevant ESG frameworks and local laws in all ESG-related accounting and reporting activities.
  • Maintain and document internal controls to ensure the integrity of ESG data, supporting external audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Collaborate with sustainability, legal, and compliance teams to stay updated on emerging regulations and implement required changes in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain policies and procedures to ensure alignment between global accounting and sustainability reporting, to be included in our Global Finance and  Accounting Manual (FAM).

Reporting:

  • Support the preparation and submission of CSRD-compliant ESG disclosures, including both financial and non-financial sustainability data, in accordance with global reporting standards.
  • Prepare and review ESG-related variance analyses, enhancing the auditability of data and linking operational performance with sustainability goals and financial outcomes.
  • Support the preparation of ESG-related audit documentation and provide detailed analysis and reports for external and internal audits.
  • Assist in the integration of ESG metrics into annual financial reports and other statutory disclosures as required by US GAAP, CSRD, or local statutory frameworks.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sustainability, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, and Supply Chain teams, to ensure alignment on data quality, auditability, and integrity.
  • Partner with shared service teams, external consultants, and third-party ESG data providers to support timely and accurate data collection and processing.
  • Act as a trusted business partner, providing insights and support to internal and external partners to advance ESG-related disclosures and improve accountability.
  • Liaise with global accounting teams to align ESG disclosure expectations and ensure consistency in reporting standards across all entities.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Accounting or Sustainability Management) or professional certifications (RA, CPA) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of experience in ESG reporting, sustainability accounting, or working within frameworks like CSRD, GRI, or SASB. 
  • Experience with global compliance frameworks and statutory reporting is highly desirable.
  • Experience in integrating sustainability metrics into financial systems or reports is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in SAP and ESG data platforms or tools (e.g., Workiva or Tableau).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data management and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills, with the ability to lead and interpret complex ESG and financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interpreting and enhancing reports and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills to enhance ESG accounting workflows.
  • Ability to integrate financial and non-financial ESG data into cohesive reports and ensure compliance with multiple frameworks.
  • Capacity to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with diverse teams, including finance, sustainability, legal, supply chain, operations, and external auditors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address gaps in ESG data collection and reporting processes.
  • Experience conducting materiality assessments, particularly double materiality analysis, to identify key ESG risks and opportunities
  • Adaptability to evolving ESG regulations and business needs.
