Overview
The Marketplace Demand Planner plays a key role in driving effective demand planning and inventory optimization across digital marketplaces. This role is responsible for building and executing mid- and long-term demand plans, ensuring that our products are available in the right place at the right time to meet financial objectives and consumer demand.
The Marketplace Demand Planner collaborates closely with commercial, merchandising and distribution teams to align on Open-to-Buy plans, optimize inventory placement, and support sales performance.
By providing data-driven insights and contributing to key business reviews, this role helps ensure operational excellence and supports the company’s overall digital commerce objectives
What You'll Do
Mid/Long-Term Demand Planning
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive demand plan for the Digital Marketplace subchannel including key account level, ensuring alignment with financial objectives, market demand and inventory targets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, merchandising, and distribution teams to build and deliver a robust mid- and long-term demand plan.
- Align with key partners on Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning, ensuring inventory levels support sales goals while maintaining profitability.
- Participate in weekly digital management sessions and key business reviews to integrate demand planning within the Digital team.
- Contribute to in-season coordination and Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) sessions, ensuring seamless seasonal transitions for digital channels.
Open to Buy execution and inventory optimization
- Own and operate the OTB planning tool for Marketplace subchannel, driving data accuracy and alignment with financial goals.
- Ensure optimal inventory placement across digital marketplaces in Europe to meet market demand and financial targets.
- Maintain a consumer-centric focus by proactively managing stock levels and reacting to market dynamics, supporting the Buying and Trading teams with inventory requests and adjustments.
- Execute inventory optimization strategies, ensuring products are available in the right locations at the right time, and supporting sales performance and meeting customer expectations.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Act as the key liaison between Planning, Merchandising, Distribution Center (DC), and Commercial teams to execute the Go-To-Market strategy.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across functions to ensure inventory management supports business objectives, reflects consumer trends, and meets financial goals.
- Partner closely with Merchandising and Commercial teams to drive a cohesive strategy that promotes profitable growth, product availability, and high in-stock levels.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's degree with a focus on business, supply chain, planning, or a related field is a prerequisite.
- Exceptions may be considered for candidates with substantial and directly relevant work experience.
- A solid track record of 1-3 years in planning OTB and/or Demand Planning, preferably within a Digital commerce environment.
- Highly desirable experience in a multichannel setting, particularly in the apparel/footwear industry.
- Strong experience in demand planning and inventory management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Merchandising, Buying&Trading, and Distribution teams.
- Data-driven approach to demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and business decision-making.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to align with various stakeholders across the business.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to adapt to changes in market dynamics and consumer demand.
- Proficiency in OTB, WOS, and Service Level planning, with a strong grasp Integrated Business Planning.
- Extensive command of Microsoft Excel and PowerBi, utilizing these tools effectively to extract insights and make informed decisions.
- Previous experience with Demand Planning systemic solutions (Preferably 09).
