Overview
The Product Developer is responsible for the development of new Footwear designs as well as other quick-strike projects involving colors and graphics on carryover products. Starting from the initial ideation phase and continuing through manufacturing. The Product Developer will work with and support the Product Creation Team to develop the quick-strike product line, solidify the quick-strike process, and achieve product objectives around aesthetics, quality, and cost within the vital timeline.
What You'll Do
- Work with a global, cross-functional product creation team from design and development milestones through commercialization to build products that go above and beyond.
- Ability to analyze design packs and prepare for factory deliverables
- Maintain Product Bill of Materials (BOM) and communicate costing for products in development.
- Identify potential manufacturing, efficiency and costing concerns during the product development cycle and cost targets.
- Own the sample process, including submitting clear sample request, summarize product teardowns within the team, and document and communicate any revisions accordingly.
- Communicate opportunities to product teams for improved construction, materials, and components to improve functionality, aesthetics, duty, and fit.
- Initiate and lead meetings with product teams during various phases of development to review, evaluate, update and ultimately drive the decision-making process that leads to on–time production confirmation and goals.
- Ability to identify process improvement opportunities
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance to team through explanation of facts and policies
- Ability to speak to and predict margin and duty classification
- Assist on production quality issues when vital.
- Document and build a strong foundation of supplier capabilities, factory relations, quality issues, material pricing, and lead times.
- Establishes and maintains standards for design quality and development process.
- Successfully able to navigate and prioritize deliverables in a fast-paced working environment
- Ability to pivot with the rapidly changing needs of the business
- Responsible for the physical management and storage of prototypes and samples.
- Proactively maintain clear team communication regarding the product development status.
- Understand and organize timelines with our manufacturing partners and material supply chain

What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Marketing, Business, or a related field is required
- Two (2+) years of experience in product creation or a similar role is required. Education, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for professional experience requirements on a year-for-year basis
- Expanded conceptual understanding of the product development and manufacturing process
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to help establish or improve the process
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
- Be a problem solver, who can work independently and deal with ambiguity using experience and precedent
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with strong decision-making capabilities
- Effective collaborator adept at working efficiently within a team and cross-functionally
- Informal leadership and guidance abilities
- Some domestic and international travel may be required
- Demonstrate a passion for premium product and team building
- Excellent team player attitude

Salary or Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.
This position is eligible to participate in a company incentive program.
