We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, IT Operations to join our IT team. This dual-role position requires a strategic problem solver who can lead endpoint management initiatives, oversee core systems infrastructure, and mentor a team of IT professionals. The ideal candidate has a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for leading high-performing teams in the areas of system administration and endpoint lifecycle management.

What You'll Do

Technical Leadership:

  • Act as a technical lead for all endpoint management and systems administration operational activities.
  • Build and implement standards, procedures, and guidelines for endpoint deployment, patching, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments with a focus on scalability and security.

 

Endpoint Administration:

  • Manage endpoint platforms (Microsoft Intune required, SCCM nice to have).
  • Oversee software packaging, deployment, and patching across Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
  • Support upgrade and maintenance cadence in partnership with IT Security.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies through endpoint hardening and configuration baselines.
  • Monitor endpoint performance, availability, and usage metrics.

 

Systems Administration:

  • Maintain and support core IT infrastructure, including servers (Windows/Linux), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file/print services, virtualization platforms (VMware), and cloud services (Azure).
  • Monitor system health, resolve performance issues, and perform regular maintenance.
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

 

Team Leadership:

  • Manage a group of 3-7 tier 2 staff.
  • Provide guidance to onsite support staff with back office standards (asset management).
  • Assign tasks, review technical work, and support career development for team members.

 

Security and Compliance:

  • Enforce security controls, endpoint encryption, and vulnerability management protocols.
  • Work with InfoSec to address audit findings and compliance requirements.

 

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Generate regular reports on endpoint compliance, system health, and performance KPIs.

What You'll Bring to the Table

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in systems or endpoint administration.
  • 2+ years of team leadership or technical lead experience.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune required/SCCM nice to have), Active Directory, PowerShell, VMware, and Office 365.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and ITIL principles.

 

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM), EDR platforms, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor in a fast-paced, technically diverse environment.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement and innovation.

Title: Manager, IT Operations 

Salary or Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000  

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.
