Overview

The Director, Trend & Design will be an influencer and leader within the Crocs Design and Product team. Sitting in a centralized creative asset team, with cross-functional reach, this role will impact culture, maintain the integrity of the brand, and work across multiple functions to bring the trend direction to life. Reporting to the Global Vice President, Design, this role will drive the annual and seasonal creative direction that combines cultural foresight and trend & pop culture analysis. You are culture and consumer-obsessed, an expert at researching, simplifying, and identifying global cultural shifts as precursors to trends. You are organized, efficient and creative in translating the work into contributions for market-leading creative direction. You thrive in a fast-paced global environment, influencing and collaborating cross functionally to get key stakeholders buy-in.

 

In reporting to the Senior Director of Creative & Trend, you will curate, inspire and influence design, category management, channel merchants, and marketing by leading the annual and seasonal trend-right creative direction that combines trend analysis, cultural foresight, and consumer insight to meet the category needs and overall Crocs brand creative direction. You will drive the consumer-relevant color strategy and palettes that articulate both progressive and commercial color application. You are culture and consumer-obsessed, an expert at researching and identifying global cultural shifts as pre-cursors to trends. You are influential, organized, efficient and creative in translating the work into contributions for market-leading creative direction and concepts. You thrive in a fast-paced global environment collaborating cross functionally to get key stakeholders buy in.

What You'll Do

Consumer

  • Deliver research, both agency and individually driven, to deliver global- and regionally focused consumer insights to inform design, category, and brand partners.
  • Drive insights to unlock product, innovation and collaboration opportunities for the brand that are both globally and regionally relevant.
  • Conduct consumer research across our key wearing occasions of every day, style, street lifestyle, and adventure.

Trend

  • Capture movement of global trends through relevant market travel, trade shows, social and web research, and trend agency research.
  • Deliver research, both agency and individually driven, across fashion, sport/street lifestyle, and adventure at a global and regionally focused level.
  • Research and deliver insights to inform silhouette, color, and trend story direction on a seasonal and fast-lane basis.
  • Leverage research and insights to map identified trends against lifecycle curves, supporting teams to identify opportunities at the right time for the brand.
  • Be a resource for Design, Innovation, Category & Channel teams throughout the seasonal process, helping to provide perspective, translate insights to product, and support with inspiring creative assets as needed. Director,

  • Drive the monthly Crocs Trend Newsletter to both inspire with the new, confirm on work in flight, and galvanize creative future for the greater Crocs team, on an ongoing cadence.

Creative

  • Deliver compelling and dynamic presentations that support Design and Brand vision, including key item references and inspiring visual imagery.
  • Drive creative distinction across our key wearing occasions of every day, style, street lifestyle, and adventure, while also uniting them into one Brand look and feel.
  • Partner with Design and Brand stakeholders to drive Design vision for product execution through support in inspiration, styling, and photoshoots with Design leadership and Brand teams.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • A bachelor’s degree in Design, Art, or Fashion Relevant Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Global creative direction, with the ability to translate knowledge into both industry-leading and commercial opportunities.
  • Experience working on multiple projects across several seasons (season overlap)
  • Consistent track record of success at other globally recognized fashion brands.
  • Experience mentoring, managing, and developing more junior talent Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong collaborator, with the ability to foster and maintain positive relationships cross functionally.
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage up, work fast, and stay organized. Director, Trend & Design
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Keynote, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Miro collaborative software.
  • Excellent eye for color: Munsell color test results.
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and globally.
  • Extensive knowledge of color theory, color models RGB, CMYK and Pantone matching systems.
  • Ability to translate knowledge and creative direction into commercial aesthetics with a strong understanding of the mainstream consumer.
  • Understanding of the Global marketplace.

Salary or Pay Range: 165000 - 175000  

Workplace Persona: Collaborator  

Pay offered will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities.

 

This position is eligible to participate in a company incentive program.
