Overview

The Director of Packaging for BRAND Crocs Inc. is responsible for leading enterprise packaging strategy and execution across the Crocs and HEYDUDE brands. This role ensures packaging solutions that are brand‑appropriate, cost‑effective, compliant, and globally scalable, while advancing sustainability, operational excellence, and supplier partnership objectives. Operating at the intersection of Product, Sourcing, Sustainability, Operations, and Brand, this leader sets clear enterprise standards while enabling brand differentiation where it matters most.

What You'll Do

  • Set enterprise packaging strategy for Crocs and HEYDUDE, aligning shared platforms and standards with brand needs.
  • Define governance and decision rights; resolve critical packaging issues across both brands.
  • Partner with brand, regional, and functional leaders so packaging delivers the right consumer experience, brand expression, and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain an expert view of the global supplier ecosystem (converters, material suppliers, and manufacturing partners).
  • Select and manage suppliers based on capability, cost, quality, compliance, scalability, and innovation.
  • Lead supplier negotiations with Sourcing, including material strategies, tooling investments, and long-term capability roadmaps.
  • Apply global manufacturing capabilities across major packaging formats and materials to advise design and sourcing decisions.
  • Bring a solid understanding of key material types (paperboard, corrugate, plastics, bio-based materials, films, inks, and adhesives).
  • Balance material and structural tradeoffs to optimize performance, sustainability, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Set testing, validation, and qualification standards to ensure durability, quality, and compliance.
  • Own total packaging cost (materials, tooling, labor impacts, freight cube, and waste) and deliver savings without compromising brand or quality.
  • Analyze cost drivers and levers by material, supplier, region, and format to reduce cost and complexity.
  • Ensure global compliance, including labeling, safety, sustainability, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements.
  • Partner with Sustainability and Legal to align packaging with company goals and evolving regulations.
  • Track and report compliance, risk, and progress against sustainability targets.
  • Embed packaging early in the product lifecycle with Product, Design, Marketing, Supply Chain, Distribution, and Retail partners.
  • Enable new product launches, channel expansion, and regional growth with scalable packaging solutions.
  • Serve as the enterprise subject-matter expert for packaging decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing packaging team (direct reports and dotted-line partners).
  • Build enterprise packaging capabilities, tools, standards, and documentation for consistent global execution.
  • Promote accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in packaging, with leadership experience in a multi‑brand or global consumer products environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Deep expertise in packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier ecosystems.
  • Proven experience managing packaging costs, supplier negotiations, and enterprise standards.
  • Strong understanding of global packaging compliance and sustainability requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience in footwear, apparel, or consumer goods strongly preferred.
